Bay City Fire Open House
The Bay City Fire Department and the Bay City Volunteer Firefighter’s Association invite you to an open house at the Bay City Fire Station.
In conjunction with the Pearl Festival and Parade, We invite the citizens of Bay City and any visitors to come by the station for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. Water will also be available.
We will also be available for questions about our Department, including our participation in the steering committee with the Garibaldi Fire Department.
Our participation in Garibaldi’s transition process has been geared towards providing the citizens of Bay City with all of the options that are available with regard to the stable operation of a Fire Department for the foreseeable future.
We currently share several of the problems that are affecting the volunteer fire service and particularly The Garibaldi Fire Department.
A source of stable and adequate funding.
Increased administrative, training, equipment, and safety requirements of the Fire Service.
Volunteer recruitment, training, and retention.
Volunteer availability to respond to calls for service.
No foreseeable replacement for senior Fire Officer’s as they retire.
Darrell Griffith
Fire Chief, Bay City Fire Department
