Election information
ELECTION REMINDER!
Seats open on City Council:
- Mayor - 1 position
- Council - 3 positions
The deadline to file for candidacy for the
City Council Positions or Mayor is August 30th, 2022.
To run, you must complete ALL of the following steps by 8/30:
- The SEL 101 and SEL 121 election forms have been submitted, reviewed, and approved by the City’s Elections Official.
- After your forms have been approved, you will need to collect 7 signatures (from Bay City Voters) as required by the City Charter.
- Once you have collected your 7 signatures you must submit those to the City Elections Officer for verification by the County Clerk.
All three steps must be completed and signatures must be verified by August 30th, 2022, so if you are interested in running, please schedule an appointment with the city elections official soon! We recommend having your forms in to the City by August 22, 2022 to allow the County Clerks office time to verify signatures.
NOTE:
To run for office in the city you must be a registered voter in the City of Bay City for at least one year per City Charter.
